Mugwort. I know, it’s a silly name, but it is what it is.
Mugwort is a cottony herb that is a little like a weed. It grows in ditches and rocky soil. And long ago before “hops” was a thing, mugwort was used to help keep beer from spoiling. Maybe that’s where the “mug” part of mugwort came from?
In the dreamworld, mugwort has been used to aid in prophetic dreaming, which is when you dream of things to come! Ok, I would LOVE to experience that. How cool would it be to dream of things to come? It also aids in lucid dreaming (dreams in which you become aware that you are dreaming and can control your dreams), and astral travel (also known as an out of body experience where you actually leave your body and explore other places all while being connected to your physical body by a silvery umbilical cord of sorts). If this doesn’t happen to intrigue you, I would love to know what does.
Now, where to get mugwort. There are several online retailers that sell mugwort. You want to be sure it’s the real deal so you can get the real results. Just do a little google search, you’ll find the one that speaks to you.
A note of caution, this herb should be avoided if you’re pregnant or nursing. You should probably avoid all herbs unless you’ve been cleared by a doctor, just some common sense. I cannot check the pregnant or nursing box so onto my first investigation with mugwort.
Tonight I’ll make mugwort tea. The recommend dosage of mugwort is between 100 mg – 400 mg. I’ll start with 400 mg because why not? Am I an over-achiever or over-indulger? Probably the latter and not the former.
Mugwort Tea

* 6 oz of boiling water
* Steep tea for 5 minutes in boiling water
