I love all dreams but I really love lucid dreams. There’s something so satisfying about recognizing that you’re in dream and being able to interact with it.
Last night it happened again. I was on a subway car and I realized I’m dreaming. Let me give you a little tip here as to why this happened. I dream of subway cars a lot, or trains. I also dream of Disney World often. Whenever I recall these dreams, I try to be sure to jot them down – as a way to nourish them. The idea is to train my brain that when I’m on a subway car or see Disney in my dreams (or any of my common dream symbols that I don’t experience regularly in waking life) I will recognize that I am dreaming and will become lucid.
In Dream Town I’m riding a subway car and realize I’m dreaming. Lucidity, hooray! A woman approaches like a game show host, puts her arm around me, turns to the passengers and says, “Ladies and gentleman, this is Jillian, and she is dreaming!”
I hug her, and thank her, and I ask, “Are you my spirit guide?”
She laughs out loud, puts her hand on my shoulder, and says, “Girl, no, let’s go.” And we went.
We left the train station and walked outside. It was night. The sky was lit with so many stars. More than I’ve ever seen in my life. In the background I saw Cinderella’s castle but it was dark. Turned off. I admired the eerie silence and looked to the stars where I fell in love with a constellation shaped like a twinkling halo 😇
As we walked I spoke very candidly with her about my feelings in waking life – about myself, my children, my spouse. The conversation rolled so easily and I retained control for what felt like a substantial amount of time. I was grateful for this experience but also worried if I was speaking so thoughtfully and with ease in my dreams, was I also audibly talking while I slept? I’ll need to confirm with hubs.
I continued on and later came across my kids. We were tested in a situation that presented them with their biggest challenges – the things that I most want to improve in each of them. We repeated each challenge until I was able to guide them in the proper way to handle it. So I’m pretty certain that my children will morph into the perfect angels I expect because I am now an expert in parenting thanks to my dreams.
Sweet Dreams!
